We have the exciting opportunity to go away together as a church family next year and it’s a joy that so many people have booked a place. The Inspire Weekend Away 2024 will be a great chance to get to know each other better, have fun together and enjoy time delving into God's word with a guest speaker Nat Charles.
Like a seam of precious metal running through a mine, or the lettering in a stick of rock, joy is deeply embedded in the Christian faith. Christianity is bursting at the seams with joy. Yet very often, it doesn’t feel that way. Over the course of the weekend, we’ll explore the why and how of joy in the Christian life, and seek to enter in more fully to the joy that is ours in Jesus.
Nat Charles pastors a church in London’s east end. He was born and raised on the Welsh borders before moving to London for an English Literature undergrad degree. Raised in a Christian home, it was at university that all he had learned about Jesus started to shape his heart. Since then, Nat has been in London, married to S-J (Sarah-Jane), working briefly in Communications before full time ministry in the student world, and theological training for ministry in the Church of England.
Nat and S-J have three children: Zachary, Arlais and Harrison.
If you've missed the registration deadline but would still like to book, please contact the office.
Planning for the weekend is still in progress but you can expect the following activities: several teaching sessions with our guest speaker, fun activities and times to relax together as a church family, quality cooked meals provided by the venue, times of sung praise and prayer, a chance to get out into the green countryside around the centre and there'll be plenty of fun for kids & youth too. If there's something in particular you'd like to do on the weekend let Sarah or Hannah know!.
We have booked a fantastic venue - High Leigh Conference Centre in Hertfordshire - which has lots of great facilities and is a short train ride/drive away from London. If you would like to find out more about High Leigh you can visit their website here: https://www.cct.org.uk/high-leigh/high-leigh-conference-centre
In order to make this weekend affordable for as many people as possible, there are several tickets on offer at different price points. Please select the price you feel is affordable given your personal finances. First instalment payments were taken in July and second instalment payments are due on 9th October.
We are so excited to confirm that Rev. Nat Charles from Saint Barnabas Dalston has agreed to be our guest speaker on our weekend away.
Yes, just like our Sunday services there will be times when the whole church family come together in worship but we will also provide groups for JAM-aged children to receive age-appropriate teaching and entertainment at various times. A creche will also be available.
You will need to make your own way to and from the venue. Closer to the time you will be able to book an off peak return train ticket from London Liverpool Street Station to Broxbourne for £20.30 per adult and half price for kids 5-15yrs.
There are a variety of room types at High Leigh: family rooms, double rooms and single rooms. We will let you know what room type you have been allocated closer to the time.
High Leigh will provide the catering for the weekend - there will be a buffet breakfast, a light lunch and a hot dinner each day we're there. Hot drinks are available free of charge from 8am-8pm every day and there is a bar on site. Dietary requirements will be catered for and you will have a chance to let us know of any requirements you have in September.
High Leigh has several accessible bedrooms available for those with reduced mobility. Please let us know if you will require this.
